We recently had ‘Custom Cabinet Inserts’ designed and constructed for us by Southern Stars Custom Woodwork.
Our Dream was to dress three unsightly areas in our home. I had no problem with a Vision for the Design, but knew I did not have the Tools to do the Build. We had been following Paul Wyman and Southern Stars for a year on social media, based on a project he had completed for our niece.
Once we contacted Paul we had an informative in home consultation where we reviewed our Vision and Expectations. Paul offered creative Design Ideas which we had not considered, and delivered on all of them.
Our key concern was innovative LED lighting. Paul did the research, found a solution, and with the help of his partner Jesse, they delivered Magic. This lighting issue was a challenge Paul was willing to accept for us, and now through Creative Innovation, he can offer it to future clients.

Before hiring Southern Stars, we struggled with clutter and lacked proper storage solutions in our home. The space felt disorganized and underutilized. Paul and his team helped with the design of our custom bookcase and storage unit which perfectly meets our needs. They paid attention to every detail and provided exceptional craftsmanship. I've known Paul for a while now. In the past, he's updated my mom's kitchen, built a gypsy wagon for my son, helped create a very functional trap door in a previous home, and has now completed a couple of projects at my historic bed and breakfast.

Paul took two identical antique doors and with them, was able to create the swinging "saloon" doors between the kitchen and dining room. This was no small feat. They needed to be taken apart, cut to size, put back together, and hung on a 110 year old doorway, and they look like they have been there all that time! Paul is one for detail, craftsmanship, qualilty, and pride in every aspect of his work.

Remember I mentioned that my home is a B&B? Well, these doors keep my guests from having to listen to me bang around in the kitchen while they enjoy their meal. They're perfect and one of the best things I've done to this house.

But, there's more. I often receive families that want a space where they can spread out a bit. I wanted to close off two bedrooms at the back of the second floor, to provide additional space for families visting the valley. I wanted to do it in a unique and fun way. I decided that a secret door closing that part of the house off and giving families a fun passage to their private space was the answer. That's a big ask. Paul took it in stride.

He was able to take an ancient wardrobe and repurpose it to be the secret door, which kids and parents have loved finding and using. Again, Paul's attention to detail and precision was put to work getting an antique wardrobe front to hang flush with a century old lathe and plaster wall. He did it.

So, my long story is meant to tell you all that Paul is a craftsman and his work is solid and will last. These aren't qualitites that we often find anymore, and should be highly valued. Your projects will be done well, by an expert, with integrity and a work ethic worthly of praise.

Southern Stars completed all of the cabinetry and shelving in our reception area in 2015. The work is the finest quality and finishes so detailed and thoughtful, it still looks brand-new. I still love the color of the wood and the functionality of the workstations. Anytime I need work-working done, I call Paul.

Southern stars did a fantastic job on a 25 year old kitchen that fell in the spring (suspended cabinets between the kitchen and dinning room). It was heart breaking to wakeup to that Sunday moring and the sunshine ceiling also came down. SOUTHERN Stars came and fixed the kitchen and matched it to the original wood. If you need a kitchen done Paul is your Man and his workmanship is fabulous.

I worked with Paul to design and build a specialty room in my home. Paul brought many useful and innovative ideas to the design process. This young man is very passionate about his work and takes pride in his craftsmanship which shows in his finished products.
• Very meticulous with aligning doors/drawers/miters
• Extremely knowledgeable with types of wood and how grains will appear with stains. Once we narrowed down our stain choices, Paul then stained larger pieces of wood to ensure it was the stain color we wanted
