We have this bank for over 15 years already. But They can't do anything for us if we ask them for help like a credit card or a house mortgage. It's always NO that's the worst bank to have now I am going somewhere else

I have been a loyal BMO customer for 10+ years. I always bragged that I had the best bank to work with, my 10 years of clientele provided a level of trust that made banking a breeze. In the past year, this has all disappeared. Mid-2024, I deposited a cheque that had been written out to someone else and endorsed by them to me on the reverse. Nobody told me that this was no longer accepted (not my email, text, or lettermail), and now I have a balance of $4k "pending until Oct 13, 9999". They tell me they cant remove it. So my online banking shows skewed numbers that make financial planning very difficult. To make matters worse, I used to have cheques immediately released up to $5k. Now, I only have access to the first $500 and have to wait 3-5 business days for the rest. Reputation = gone. Now, I WENT INTO THE BRANCH to deposit a CERTIFIED CHEQUE to pay off my credit card. They had a new girl do it, and she royally screwed up. By midnight, my entire bank account had been frozen by the fraud department. I called in immediately, and they told me they couldnt help me until the next morning. So I call back at 8am and they tell me they cant forward me to the fraud department. The fraud department number is not listed ANYWHERE. I called half a dozen numbers on Google, all were willing to help until I provided my information, then they suddenly get cold and say they cant help me nor can they forward me to the department that can. And nobody at any of those numbers was able to give me the number for fraud either. Finally, I found the number. I was informed that my payment was flagged for being an "untracable payment". Bro, first of all, if someone pays my credit card, I dont care if you dont know where it came from or who did it, just accept. But THE FACT THAT I DEPOSITED IN THE BRANCH and they cant trace it? I have a lot of foul words for them. Now my account is completely locked out, debit and all. I cant login the app, the website, or call their 1-866 number. And this is going to take 24-48hrs to "be reviewed". They need to call the cheque provider. EXCEPT THEY CALLED THE CHEQUE PROVIDER IN THE BRANCH WHEN IT WAS DEPOSITED. Awful, awful, awful experience. I cant use my debit or credit for 2 whole days until this gets cleared up. The moment it is, Im switching banks. This is just absurd, and cannot be excused.

I was very happy with this bank until recently ive just had problems with them. And all of a sudden they completely froze my account ive tried to call them multiple times they just keep saying they'll get back to me but never do. I dont recommend this bank at all, will be changing to a different bank
